Audacity Theatre Lab Presents “The Last Castrato” At Plano Theatre Space

March 18th, 2008 · No Comments

The Last CastratoAudacity Theatre Lab is proud to host a special engagement of Andy Eninger’s twisted one-man show THE LAST CASTRATO.

Presented by Dallas’ Audacity Productions at the 2005 New York International Fringe Festival, Addison’s 2006 Out of the Loop Festival as well as the Pocket Sandwich Theatre and Austin’s Blue Theatre this production makes a special return to the DFW area.

THE LAST CASTRATO is the bittersweet tale of Joseph, who was born without a penis, and his love affair with Elena, who was born with her skin inside out. Elena, however, was blessed with a beautiful singing voice to balance her deformity, while Joseph had no talent to make up for his missing member. β€œA penis,” he muses, β€œin terms of artistic merit is worth nothing.”

Directed by Brad McEntire and featuring recent DFW Critic’s Forum winner Jeff Swearingen (Best Actor for THE BOXER and THE GNADIGES FRAULEIN) this special two-night engaement is not to be missed!

All proceeds benefit Audacity Theatre Lab’s upcoming production of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LULLABY YOU’VE EVER HEARD.
