Garland Civic Theatre has scheduled its final production of the 40th anniversary season, All Shook Up. Performances will be Thursday through Sunday, April 17 to May 11, 2008 at the Patty Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street, in downtown Garland. Tickets are $21 to $25 depending on performance date and time. There are discounts available for those over 60 and under 19. College students over the age of 18 can get a discount with their student identification. Special prices are also available for groups of 10 or more. Into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar- playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that’ll have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.” The book is by Joe Dipietro, the author of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” and “Over the River and Through the Woods”.
The cast includes Stephanie Hall as Natalie Haller, Gregory Hullett as Chad, Jackie Kemp as Jim Haller, Laura Warner as Sylvia, Christian Houston as Lorraine, Drew Kelly as Dennis, Kristen Blevins James as Miss Sandra, Cindy Kahn as Mayor Matilda Hyde, Ryan Cowles as Dean Hyde, and Dan Tillman as Sheriff Earl. Others in the cast include Nikki Britten, Cody Ceniti, Kimberly Anne Cooper, Walter Lee Cunningham, Jr., Jarvon Hughes, Melony Isaac, Maurice Johnson, Courtney McCarson, Daniel Miranda, Jack Perl and Darius Anthony Robinson. Kyle McClaran, GCT’s Artistic Director, directed the production. The Music Director is Pam Holcomb McLain, and the Choreographer is Todd Aragon. Costumes are by Jeulet Noyes and the set is by Kimberly Corbett. Jason Driggers is the light designer.
