Get ready for an evening of mystery and suspense as ICT presents Agatha Christie’s “The Unexpected Guest” from March 28 through April 12 at MainStage in Irving.
Agatha Christie has crafted another of her gripping murder mysteries that have thrilled readers and theatergoers for nearly a century.
When stranded motorist Michael Starkwedder goes looking for assistance at a nearby house, he discovers Laura Warwick holding a gun while standing over the dead body of her husband Richard. No Agatha Christie murder mystery is a simple open and shut case, of course. The house is full of suspects, motives, and alibis that will keep ICT audiences guessing through twists and turns that only Agatha Christie could create.
There are plenty of clues that this stellar cast will make it a memorable production. ICT vet Scott Nixon fills the role of Michael Starkwedder, while popular area stage talent Cathy Parks Bardin gives her mysterious charm to the part of Laura Warwick.
The cast of suspects and investigators includes ICT favorites Debbie Hurley as Miss Bennett, Phil Nixon in the role of Inspector Thomas, and Dave Schmidt as Henry Angell.
Making their ICT debuts are talented stage pros Craig Boleman as Julian Farrar and Laura C. Cutler in the role of Mrs. Warwick. Also taking their first ICT bows are newcomers Jack Shields as Jan Warwick, and David Smith as Sergeant Cadwallader.
Jill Stephens returns to the director’s chair and has gathered a roster of production talent that include scenic designer and Agatha Christie enthusiast Paul Fiorella, costume design pro and ICT vet Sue Hill, and properties and set sleuth, Joanne Hull.
Area theater favorite Sam Nance is handling lighting design for his eighth ICT show and is joined by award winning sound designer Richard Frohlich. Stage manager Lois Bair again keeps the action moving for another ICT production.
Co-producers Evelyn G. Hall and Tom Ortiz, long-time ICT stalwarts, have put together a thrilling production of a great mystery. All the evidence points to an evening of suspense-filled entertainment.
