Camp TA*DAA at UTA
June 19-28, 2008
Camp TA*DAA, or Theatre Arlington Dramatics Arts Academy, is an intense musical theater camp, and not for the meek! Serious performing arts students can enjoy the conservatory-style schedule and master classes taught by professional artists in a university setting. With the goal of quality entertainment, this 10-day in depth theater camp will take students from auditions to rehearsals to tech to the performance of A Year With Frog and Toad. The campers will present two public performances for day cares and other young audiences plus a final performance for friends and family on the final day of camp. The fun continues into the evening and over the weekend with field trips to experience local theater, a trip to Six Flags, and fun and games on the UTA campus. Campers stay in university residence halls, and most meals are served in the dining hall supervised by theater camp and UTA staff. From the opening day auditions until the final curtain falls on the final performance, the excitement never stops at Camp TA*DAA. Come as an individual, and leave as part of an ensemble.
Centerstage Camp
June 9-21, 2008
Kids take Center Stage at Theatre Arlington this summer! This comprehensive performing arts camp focuses on auditioning techniques, acting and performance skills, and characterization, and culminates in a week of performances of Dirty Dealings in Dixie for children from across the Metroplex. Students will build self-esteem, social skills and a sense of accomplishment by becoming part of the team of actors working toward the goal of performance. Registration requires approval of the education director. Students must have some type of performing arts experience to participate.

Students learn theater games, terminology and skills necessary to present an end-of-camp performance piece for friends and family. Experienced instructors will use costume pieces, props, music and movement to spark and focus students’ imaginations. A fun week to look forward to all year long!
