Theatre Arlington holds auditions for the comedy The Book of Liz on Sunday, March 30, 2008. Guest director Charles Ballinger directs the quirky comedy by “The Talent Family” Amy and David Sedaris.

This wacky tale follows the adventures of Sister Elizabeth Donderstock who is Squeamish (has been her whole life). She makes cheese balls (traditional and smoky) that sustain her entire religious community of Clusterhaven. But when Sister Elizabeth feels unappreciated among her Squeamish brethren, she decides to try her luck in the outside world. Comedy doesn’t get much better than this!

Auditions are at 6 p.m. Theatre Arlington is seeking an ethnically diverse cast. There are roles for two men and two women ages late 20s to mid 40s to play multiple comedic roles. For a full list of characters, visit www.theatrearlington.org/Auditions.asp.

The location for auditions is Theatre Arlington, 305 W. Main St. in downtown Arlington.

Auditioners should come ready for cold readings from the script. Dress should be appropriate for moving. Those wishing to audition need to provide a headshot and resume (if available) and bring any dates of conflict.

Performances of The Book of Liz are May 9-25, 2008 on Thurs. - 7:30 p.m.; Fri. & Sat. - 8 p.m.; Sun. - 2 p.m.
